With Qatari Participation, 13th Meeting of Arab Technical Committee on Tourism Kicks Off

Cairo, July 01 (QNA) - The 13th meeting of the Arab Technical Committee on Tourism, which will last for two days, kicked off at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States on Tuesday, with the participation of the State of Qatar.

The State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by Head of the International Cooperation Unit at Qatar Tourism Mohammed Al Mahmoud.

The meeting's agenda included eleven items, with recommendations to be submitted to the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism at its next session, scheduled for next December, for approval.

In a statement, the League of Arab States said that the meeting aims to discuss an initiative to activate joint tourism packages for Arab countries, and Arab cooperation agreement in the tourism sector, as well as enhancing economic intelligence capabilities in tourism. It also aims to discuss cooperation between Arab countries in combating trafficking in stolen and looted antiquities, as well as an initiative to exchange expertise between Arab countries in the field of regulating the tourism sector.

It added that the meeting's agenda includes the subject of integration of tourism and cultural heritage in Arab countries, as well as a study prepared by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States on climate change and its impact on the Arab tourism sector. (QNA)
