Minister of State for Foreign Trade Meets WTO Director-General

Geneva, July 09 (QNA) - HE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr. Ahmad bin Mohammed Al Sayed held a series of bilateral meetings with several senior international officials, each separately, on the sidelines of his visit to Geneva.

His Excellency met with HE Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, where they discussed topics of mutual interest in the field of international trade and geopolitical fluctuations.

The discussions covered issues such as tariffs, the importance of supporting the multilateral international trade agenda, finding solutions to facilitate the flow of goods, as well as trade in services, intellectual property rights, and reforms to the WTO.

His Excellency also met with HE President and CEO of the World Economic Forum Borge Brende.

During the meeting, they addressed global economic and trade conditions and fluctuations.

In another meeting, His Excellency met with HE Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Pedro Manuel Moreno.

The meeting touched on global economic and external conditions, indicators related to the State of Qatar, and a number of topics related to free trade agreements and bilateral investment agreements. (QNA)
