6th Session of Islamic Conference of Labour Ministers to Kick Off in Doha Wednesday

Doha, October 14 (QNA) - Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Doha will host the sixth session of the Islamic Conference of Labour Ministers from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Wednesday and Thursday, 15 - 16 October.
The conference, held under the theme "Local Experiences, Global Achievements: Success Stories in the Islamic World," will bring together Their Excellencies the Labour Ministers and heads of delegations from OIC member states, as well as representatives from regional and international organizations, experts, academics, and civil society.
Serving as a platform for dialogue among labour ministers, the conference will explore OIC strategies aimed at developing labour markets and strengthening social protection systems across member states.
Key topics include joint initiatives and projects to reduce unemployment, enhance skill development, build capacities, and support socio-economic development efforts in OIC countries.
The event's timing reflects growing interest in human resource development, job creation, social protection, digital transformation, and empowering national talents to lead various economic sectors and actively contribute to sustainable development.
The conference also underscores the importance of collective action and solidarity among member states.
Notably, the conference will call for intensified efforts and coordinated initiatives to support the labour sector in the State of Palestine and alleviate the economic and social challenges faced by the Palestinian people under current conditions.
As a high-level platform, the conference will facilitate the exchange of experiences and achievements among OIC countries, address labour market challenges amid rapid global changes, and promote joint efforts to support localization programs, fair employment, technological advancement, and economic empowerment in the Islamic world.
