MOI Community Council Raises Awareness of the Drug Scourge and Its Perils

The Law Respect Culture Bureau of the General Directorate of Community Protection and Crime Prevention at the Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the Fujairah Foundation for Regions Development, organized a community awareness council under the title Community Awareness Security and Protection. The event, held at the Mereshid Council in Fujairah, targeted families and members of the local community.

During the session, Ms. Lamia Al Zaabi, Head of the Drug Prevention Department at the Federal General Directorate of Drug Control, and First Lieutenant Khaled Al Zaabi, delivered focused and impactful awareness messages highlighting the grave dangers posed by the scourge of drugs and their detrimental impact on society. The speakers underscored the importance of parental vigilance, stressing the need for continuous monitoring of children and the meaningful investment of their leisure time, particularly during the summer break, through engagement in educational and cultural clubs, the encouragement of hobbies, and the provision of support that fosters prevention and protection.

The session also highlighted the leading efforts of the Ministry of Interior and the UAE Anti-Narcotics Council in confronting this critical issue. The speakers reviewed various prevention strategies and reporting mechanisms available through the Ministry’s integrated digital communication platforms, such as the Mukafih service (80044), the Ministry’s official MOI application, email channels, and its official website.

In addition, the session addressed the Siraj National Drug Prevention Program and the Ministry’s ongoing adoption of pioneering initiatives and best practices, including the reinforcement of cooperation and integration with government entities and institutions nationwide.
