Riyadh Governor Receives WHO Healthy City Certificates for Al-Ghat, Al-Zulfi

​His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh Region, received the World Health Organization’s Healthy City accreditation certificates for Al-Ghat and Al-Zulfi governorates.

This took place during a meeting at His Royal Highness’s office today with Minister of Health, H.E. Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel.

Prince Faisal bin Bandar praised this health achievement, which adds to the accomplishments of the region and its governorates, highlighting the continuous support provided by the wise leadership, to the health sector, contributing to enhancing the efficiency of healthcare services in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

For his part, the Minister of Health affirmed that the accreditation of Al-Ghat and Al-Zulfi as Healthy Cities reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to placing human health at the heart of urban development, and to promoting prevention and quality of life. He noted that this achievement demonstrates the integration of governmental and community efforts in building sustainable healthy environments that enhance population health and support the goals of Vision 2030 toward a vibrant society enjoying prosperous health.

The accreditation further strengthens the Kingdom’s leadership in the Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa region in the number of WHO-accredited Healthy Cities, now totaling 16 cities. This reflects the efforts of the Ministry of Health’s Healthy Cities Program and the integrated work of the Ministerial Committee for Health in All Policies across government entities, contributing to the development of sustainable urban and healthy environments that improve quality of life.

The meeting was attended by Al-Ghat Governor Mansour bin Saad Al-Sudairi and Acting Governor of Al-Zulfi, Saleh bin Saif Al-Rafea.
