In an unprecedented achievement, Emirates Health Services (EHS) has received international accreditation for its Diabetes Clinical Care Program (CCPC) from the Joint Commission International (JCI). The accreditation spans 12 hospitals and 8 primary healthcare centers across Dubai and the Northern Emirates, solidifying EHS as the world’s largest institutional network accredited for diabetes care. This milestone underscores the EHS’s commitment to delivering high-quality, specialized services aligned with global best practices.

H.E. Dr. Yousif Mohamed Al Serkal, Director-General of EHS, emphasized that this accreditation crowns years of institution-wide efforts focused on specialization and excellence. “This achievement aligns with the vision of our wise leadership and reflects our commitment to building an integrated healthcare system that elevates diabetes care standards locally and globally. We have transformed health challenges into opportunities for growth through a strategic approach integrating innovation, unified clinical practices, and smart institutional expansion, paving the way for a more resilient and sustainable healthcare future,” he stated.

H.E. Dr. Essam Al Zarooni, Acting Executive Director of the Medical Services Sector at EHS, highlighted that accrediting such a large number of facilities simultaneously demonstrates the depth of institutional planning and the effectiveness of treatment models developed within EHS. “This accreditation strengthens our resolve to continue implementing best medical practices, training our teams, and enhancing patient experiences to deliver world-class services. It also reflects the relentless efforts of our medical and administrative staff to improve care quality and ensure patient safety,” he added.

The JCI accreditation followed a rigorous evaluation of EHS’s 20 facilities, assessing compliance with stringent global standards, including program and clinical information management, care coordination, patient and provider support, and continuous performance measurement and improvement.

With this recognition, EHS reaffirms its leadership in advancing specialized care and its commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services in line with global benchmarks, particularly for diabetes patients, as it continues to prioritize improving patients’ quality of life, raising community awareness about disease prevention, and implementing cutting-edge medical protocols and innovative treatments. These efforts align with the objectives of the “We the UAE 2031” vision and the UAE Centennial Plan 2071.
