As part of preparations for the upcoming 1446H Hajj season, the Minister of Health, H.E. Fahad bin Abdulrahman AlJalajel, inaugurated the Robotic Surgical System and reviewed the advanced PET-CT Scanning technology during an inspection tour of King Abdullah Medical City, a key facility within the Makkah Health Cluster.

This visit comes within the Ministry's broader efforts to ensure full operational readiness of healthcare services in the holy sites and underscores its ongoing commitment to providing exceptional medical care to pilgrims. These initiatives support the strategic objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly through the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program, both of which aim to elevate the quality and efficiency of services provided to the Guests of Allah.

The newly launched Robotic Surgical System is a state-of-the-art platform designed to perform highly complex and minimally invasive procedures in areas such as thoracic surgery, urology, gynecological oncology, colorectal, and intestinal surgery. Operated by skilled Saudi surgeons, the system enhances surgical precision, minimizes recovery time, and improves patient safety, reflecting the capabilities of the Kingdom's national medical workforce.

In addition, the PET-CT scanner—the first of its kind within Ministry of Health facilities in the western region—is one of the most advanced diagnostic imaging tools available. It is used for the early detection and accurate diagnosis of a wide range of serious conditions, including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders. The high-resolution imaging it provides plays a critical role in enhancing diagnostic accuracy and supporting informed treatment planning.
