Healthcare System Delivers Over 65,000 Services to Umrah Performers in Makkah and Madinah

The Ministry of Health stated that the total number of healthcare services provided by the healthcare system to Umrah Performers and visitors in Makkah and Madinah until the 25th of Ramadan, exceeded 65,000. This comes as part of its commitment to providing comprehensive medical care, to ensure the safety of pilgrims and enhance the health sector's readiness during the Umrah season in Ramadan. These efforts are in line with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program within the Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to improve the quality of healthcare services and facilitate access to them.

The healthcare services provided to the guests of God included more than 52,000 visits to emergency departments, 10,000 cases benefiting from primary care services, 400 surgical procedures, more than 150 cardiac catheterizations, and nearly 3,000 kidney dialysis sessions, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure comprehensive medical care for pilgrims.

Saudi Red Crescent Authority teams have handled more than 46,000 reports in Makkah and Madinah since the beginning of Ramadan. They have dealt with 31,000 reports in Makkah, with an average response time of 5 minutes and 48 seconds. They have also dealt with 15,000 reports in Madinah, with an average response time of 5 minutes and 26 seconds, reflecting the speed of intervention and the efficiency of emergency preparedness.

The healthcare system continues its ongoing efforts to provide integrated healthcare services by enhancing the readiness of medical facilities, strengthening the capabilities of specialized personnel, and harnessing the latest technologies to ensure effective and safe care for pilgrims. It also continues to improve the performance of the health system, achieving the highest standards of quality and sustainability in the provision of healthcare services during Umrah and Hajj seasons.
